Yessiree, after 60 months, it's splitsville for one of the most high profile families of Hollywood.

Frankly, I'm surprised. They looked like they were in love and were handling fame and public gaze in a balanced and respectable manner. He was doing films so was she. Their daughter was also famous, as paparazzis chased her every time she went out shopping or pooped in her diapers 
But looks have again deceived us all.
Tom wasn't expecting it, so he says. She felt like a 'robot'.

Eh, so, how much does love cost?
Big moolah to be divided for sure.
The way I see it, busy days ahead for them; custody of the kid, pre-nup agreements, moving out, separation,divorce, dating, marriage.

An L.A. resident is videotaped as he is beaten by L.A. police officers mercilessly, as he lay on the ground. He is bleeding, seriously injured and almost dead.


The man is RODNEY KING. The scene is the start of the L.A. riots of '92. 
Rodney king died last week, at the age of 47.

For many people, like me, who were not in L.A. at that time, nor in America, it was just news . 
But L.A. was literally on fire. Why?
"WE FIND THE DEFENDANTS NOT GUILTY".

NOT GUILTY ..for this.

These words caused an uproar inside the court and outside in the black community. The depth and  magnitude of those words would be measured in an unprecedented manner, and  L.A. was going to pay for it. Blood for blood.
The domino effect was set in motion. The cops went home, the black community went into the streets.Seething with fury and seeking justice, it was the start of a tsunami of violence.
L.A. bore the brunt.
Fires, looting and killing. Police were at first reduced to onlookers and later forced to retreat, due to overwhelming crowd numbers. L.A. was a free-for-all.


Rodney King, however miraculously survived the vicious beating and even pleaded for calm on T.V. His words would become legendary " Can't we all get along?"


He lived a not so placid life after that. He won close to $ 4 million for his beating.
 But  he was no poster boy for the law. He had many run-ins with the law. 
He was into construction , reality TV and other jobs.

Well, well, well. She not only stomps on men and other political fledglings who dare come in her way, for a living, she also knows how to partayyyy. 
I have honestly admired her right since her role as first lady, during her 'cigargate' days until now. She stayed behind her husband and now she leads America from the number 2 position. I don't follow her political life to the 't', but she has seen it all and if there's one person who can say 'been there, done that'..look no further.

Lives have been lost, controversies created, businesses bloomed and children who are just out of being breast fed have an FB page. Ok, that may be wild, but you know what I mean.

Then chew on the fact that they have actually opened up an office in Dubai just because of the gargantuan volume of FB users in this Middle East region. 

Advertising has tripled on FB, just look at any page. Apps are easily downloaded, ask any kid. Coupled with the fact that, once access was limited to PC's and laptops, the smart phones have taken it one step ahead. 

Conglomerates, celebs, movie studios..you name it..they're all in here. But they are here for  business. They got motives. Selfish ones.

And now FB has gone public. 

Am I not on FB? Yes, I'm on FB, you wise guys. 

FB is for fun and games, and that's what I use it for. I log out and move on.

FB is a social tool. Use it wisely and you will get to be old and wise.

Donna Summer 1948-2012

Donna rocked the music scene in the 70's and 80's. Her music brought her international fame and success. 
Her contemporaries were Diana Ross among others.

She lost the battle with cancer. 
Once again we are reminded that in death there are no beggars and princes. We are all alike.

She works hard for the money.

Robin , is one part of the famous Aussie export, the BEEGEES (Brothers Gibb).
The BeeGees enthralled us all with their songs in the 80's and 90's, with lead singer Barry Gibb, who had already lost another brother Maurice earlier in 2003.
Their youngest Andy ,was also lost at a very young age.
The BeeGees were a huge part of the 70's/80's generation. Their music was groundbreaking and their stage presence was mesmerizing. 
Sadly, Robin too lost his battle with cancer, like Donna.

Many of us didn't know them personally but it's hard to see them go. Somewhere we feel connected and it's a reminder of our growing up , our childhood, our school life, our holidays, our life 30 years ago. 
Reminds us that time is flying by. How old were we then?

Earlier, I was reading about clever, strategic product placement and marketing in the movies.  Nothing scores like humour and this justifies that, again.

Product placement is a major revenue source and although there  is no specific brand mentioned here per se', the ripple effect is already in play. 


The Avengers, at a diner,  in costume, gulping and munching ravenously on a shawarma, in total silence,  after a tiring day of fighting villains. Absolutely hilarious.

The video game culture in the Arab states is not a new one. Burgers, coke, video games..you know the drill.

What is more poignant is that this happened just across the border.  Heck , I still haven't brought my kids one. 4 years is too young in my opinion, and look what he did.

Two things here
